SSMS - Sign Structure Management System is a tool that allows you to catalogue your sign structures, track their inventory and schedule their maintenance and installation. It also catalogs electrical components and sign sizes. Developed by the Washington DC Department of Public Works, the prototype provides design and analysis of existing and new sign structures. The system is also used to track the conditions of sign supports.
The bridge structure type is passed to most functions as an argument. For example, the add_constraint function is called when the bridge is instantiated for a specific model.
Bridges also have attributes, which are lists of variables. These attributes are retrieved by get, set or modify. To store an attribute, a bridge object must have a reference to a constraint.
The shortest-path algorithm uses the constraints. If a coefficient changes in the original constraint, it must be transmitted to the bridge's created constraint.
A list of tuples is returned by most of these functions. There are two types of tuples: one-tuples and two-tuples.
In the case of a scalar function, the order of the dimensions is important. An indicator constraint uses the first dimension to indicate the constraint. Using the order of the dimensions can make getters easier to use.
A single arm sign bridge is generally better placed than a double arm one. This is because it has more support. However, if the land diverges in different directions, a double arm sign bridge is more appropriate.
